Dinkey Creek

This weekend we had double the fun as we went on an excursion and the kiddos were invited to a birthday party.  Our calendar is filling up more and more which is exciting.  Jayson brought home some foam swords that were the highlight of the week.  Now we play lots of Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  I haven't decided whether I am relieved for the break of acting out Frozen or not.  I am always the lucky candidate of being Captain Hook which means I get attacked by the swords and little pirates.

Here comes "Jake" ready to rescue Izzy.

Enjoying their "sun" umbrellas.

Ellie tells her baby to go to sleep,
then she tells her baby to cry, and finally
he gets to be a happy baby all wrapped up.

Ellie and Jack playing baby...

Ellie planted Zinnia seeds back in April and now they are in full bloom.

She is so proud of them and checks on them first thing every
morning to see what new blooms have opened.

Dinkey Creek in the Sierra National Forest...

The kids played in "The Slicks"  which are little pools carved out of granite.
I believe Ellie referred to this spot as "rock Heaven".  My pockets were over flowing with rocks.
It was very slippery so Jack had many falls.

Ellie was convinced the pebbles were fish eggs.

Jack was amazed by the water fall slide.

As always the kiddos made friends, and they were catching little fish.

Birthday Party Fun...

Brave little lady was ready for some fun!

Jack wasn't so sure about going on his own.

I think she liked the slide!

I had to take Jack through the obstacle course and it was quite the work out.

Jayson was giving me a hard time for taking so long so I dared him to go.
He definitely took longer!

Our party favor was the ingredients for Gak.

They wanted to make it as soon as we got home.

Jack liked making snakes.

A Little Baseball Fun

Since we couldn't spend Father's Day at or near the CWS this year we lucked out and the Omaha Storm Chasers just happened to be in town to play the Fresno Grizzlies.  This was Jack's first ball game and he loved it.  He kept yelling out, "there it goes!"  Jayson took him over to the Omaha Storm Chasers dug out as they were practicing and the pitcher gave Jack the ball when they finished up.  He told Jayson, "that awesome Daddy, lets go back!"  Jack was very proud of his ball and that's what got him going on being very concerned about where the ball was on the field.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

What a fun way to spend Father's day,
we had great seats and even a meal was included!

Jack got to sing his favorite song," Take me out to the Ball Game!"

A perfect Father's Day!

Our fun at home...

"Ta da," this is our new digger sand pit.
Ellie of course refer's to it as her fairy beach since it is right by the fairy garden.

Ellie has been working towards filling a good behavior punch card.
She filled it up, so I made a "Frozen" scavenger hunt to find her Anna and Elsa prize.

Jack thought the grass needed a little trim while Dad was away for work.

I decided we needed to do something about Ellie's bare walls, so it was project time.
My little artist was very excited to pick out her supplies and get to work!

We spend a lot of time at the pool and running various errands this week.

Visitor number two!

We had a great visit with Grandma Jeannie showing her all around and taking her to some of our favorite places.  We made a few trips out of town one of which being a new stop for us.

Ellie just finished up a week of Vacation Bible School which she really enjoyed.  Jack was very upset each night when we left and would say, "go bible school too!"  He was very excited to go with us the last night for the big show and did his little happy dance as we were heading out the door.  Ellie has been really impressing us with her ability to say prayers at dinner time.  Last night she said one of our favorites by far...

"Thank you god for my family, I love my mom, and my dad, and my baby brother and Ralphie.  Thank you for this delicious food, and eating, and thank you for you god."

Sitting outside enjoying a nice relaxing evening...

Jack was claiming he had a sword and he would tuck it in his shirt and then pull it out.  We were cracking up he is such a cute little tough guy!

Getting prepared for out Teddy Bear Picnic..

Our Mommy and Me group had a Teddy Bear Picnic for the last day,
it was such a fun day!

Ellie making Kringles with me for the first time to take for the picnic.
She was an expert "snake" roller.

Perfect little Kingle ready to go on the pan to bake.

A little trip to King's Canyon

Enjoying the view of the Sequoia's and Red Woods.

It was nice to walk around without the snow this time.

We were able to drive further in this time to see the canyon with the roads clear.
What a sight!

Heading to Hollywood and the Santa Monica Pier...

Ellie posing with Shriek at the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Not something I want to repeat again with small children.
Jack kept spitting in the shoes of famous people at the Chinese Theater.

Santa Monica Beach had so many fun things to see and do!

There was a Paddle Board race going on we stopped to watch.

The dragon face the kids were climbing on sprayed water out the nostrils.

The kids loved the little beach playground!

The monkey bars were perfect for Ellie to practice on.

Our trip to the Beach was a big hit!
We played in the ocean as well and the kids had a blast playing in the waves.  All the other stops we've made to the ocean thus far it had been too chilly to really get in the water.  The kids loved it.  It was a great way to spend the day!

Making some Pinkalicious cupcake cookies...

They were so excited to decorate these yummy cookies!

Jack  was saying, "oh yeah!"

Baking time is so much fun with these kiddos!
