Gearing up for Thanksgiving

Is it just me, or does it seem like Thanksgiving just gets side swiped.  I am not ready for Christmas to take over so this week we embraced Thanksgiving.  Last week was all about recovering from Halloween and getting the little man potty trained.  He up and decided he was a big boy and did not want to wear diapers anymore.  WooHoo!  I did feel like I spent most of last week in the bathroom but I know it comes with the territory and now that we have that under our belts we can go back to living a normal day...Or somewhat normal day.

A little Turkey fun...

We made oreo cookie turkeys for snack.

Ellie loved them so much, we had to make one everyday the rest of the week.

We had so many little pumpkins from our many pumpkin patch adventures that I decided we need to liven them up a little.  So we decided to make some fun Thanksgiving decorations.

So turkey pumpkins came to life!

Jack just loved poking holes with the tooth pick.

He had a hard time sticking the feathers in,
so he would poke a hole and hand me the feather he wanted to go there.

This was a project I think Jack stuck with longer than Ellie for the first time.

We had a Turkey hunt, plucked corn off the cob, and played some Thanksgiving BINGO...

Ellie loves scavenger hunts so we did a number turkey hunt.

She found them all and traced each number lickety split.

Next up was getting the sensory bin filled up.

The Indian corn was a little harder to pluck off, we had to break out the tweezers.

I had to pass on my love of BINGO with the kids.

A Week of Halloween Fun!

We had all sorts of Halloween Fun to look forward to this past week.  First we got invited over to the neighbor's to paint pumpkins. Then Jack had a Halloween party with our playgroup. We hosted a pumpkin carving party, and Ellie's Halloween Party finished off our excitement.  Trick or treating was a success, the kiddos were so excited and stayed in character throughout our trek through the neighborhood shouting "yo, ho, ho" and singing the Jake and the Neverland songs.  The kids had a blast!

Preparing for our parties...

We made little rice krispie pumpkins to take to the neighbors.

We also had to make games for Ellie's school party.

Jack was excited to try a pumpkin when he woke up from his nap.

Pumpkin carving time...

They had fun digging out the seeds and guts.

They actually worked together, with no fights!

Ellie loved her flower.
She wanted to sleep with it in her room that night.

Halloween!

They made spider web/mummy pizzas, and decorated Jack-o-lantern cookies for their lunch.

Jack got to come with me, he's trying out the clementine pumpkins.

Jack was very excited about the prize he got from Ellie's teacher.

Ready to go trick or treating!

We did a little mask decorating the day after Halloween.

Ellie the kitty cat.

Jack the super hero cat.
