A few new adventures

We've been a busy bunch and I don't have many pictures to prove it.   I'll get to the pictures and let them tell the rest...
Ellie all dressed up for a Frozen themed Birthday party we were invited too.
Notice she thought pink puppy should be dressed up too.

She was loving the party girl's vanity,
but didn't like Jayson coming in for a snapshot.

Her lovely braids were being ripped out to use the curling iron.

Visiting John's Incredible Pizza

Brownie Pop experiment...

Grandma Debbie's package for the month included a valentine cake pop press.

Jack was very helpful with eating the crumbs.

Not bad for our first time!

They tasted yummy and we had fun which was all that matters!

What they really do for fun...

And to think this grocery cart almost didn't make it to CA with us!

Ringing in the New Year!

With 2014 behind us now I realized I never really mentioned Ellie and Jack's biggest accomplishments for the year.  Ellie's would be deciding she wanted to learn to read and blowing us away by how quickly she caught on.  I hope the love of books sticks with her!  Jack's big accomplishment would becoming potty trained at 2 1/2 .  We didn't see that coming at all!  No worries about getting him started in Preschool this fall.

We've been keeping busy enjoying the mild winter we have here and playing with friends.  I asked Ellie if she had any goals for the new year and she said she would like to build a snowman. I guess our play snow isn't cutting it and we'll have to make a trip to the mountains soon.  I have to say I don't personally miss the snow but I suppose I could handle a day trip for the kids!

New Years

         Play snow

Jack and I whipped up a batch of play snow while Ellie was at school.

He was pretty excited not to have big sis taking over.

This time around we used baking soda and shaving cream.

So the added bonus was clean up time we brought out the vinegar to watch it fizz.

He was pretty captivated.

Once it was time to show Ellie all he cared about showing her was the fizzing part.

They both thought it was really cool to feel it fizz in their hand.

Snowflake game time...

We tried out a little game idea I saw on pinterest involving a frozen inspired game.

Ellie was all on board to help by making an Olaf and spreading snow all over our snowflake.

Ellie was only into the game for one full go round
and then she just wanted to spread snow around
and find new ways to use the snowflake.
So for the time being it remains on our floor for her imagination to run wild.
Today it was a pirate adventure that lead us through the snowflake.

She asked for this picture showing off the snowflake she collected by balancing on the blue tape.

My little shopping buddies...
Pink puppy was a big help as well.

To give a little taste of Ellie's dramatics when it comes to dress up I have a story to share.  Ellie came to me with her Doc McStuffins head band and needed it fixed because the flower has fallen off.   So I fix the headband and put Ellie's hair in the two braids to pull of the transformation.  She happily ran off play.  Then I  heard screams from the bathroom, I ran to find Ellie on the floor upset that her hair is not dark so she doesn't look like Doc McStuffins.  She was tearing out the braids and ripping off her costume.

Jack has is own drama.  Jack changed outfits 3 times, as it so hard deciding which super hero to be.  His new thing is to tell us his name is not Jack it is whatever shirt he is wearing.  That will often be his excuse for not listening as he will say "I not Jack, I Batman."  We've got some funny little kiddos on our hands!
