Clovis Rodeo Weekend

Clovis Rodeo was going on this week so Jayson and I got out one night to check it out and saw Scotty McCreery in concert.  I do like his voice but since I really only listen to kids music cruising around town I didn't know most of his songs.  If anything it was just nice to hear something other than Frozen, Tinkerbelle, or Pinkalicious for a change.  Our last week with Grandma Debbie here we tried out a few spots around town I was curious about.

San Joaquin Fish Hatchery

As soon as Jack spotted the big fish  out front
he said, "go climb, go climb!"

The trout fins would pop up out of the water as they swam.

Who would have thought trout could be so exciting!

Skywalk Trampoline Arena

They had a blast, as we left Jack said, "dat fun!"

By the time our hour was up we were all wore out.

A little fun at home...

Ellie worked on a stepping stone with Grandma Debbie.

Jack got to open an early Birthday present from Grandma!

He looked like such a big boy on his new bike!

He was saying, "vroom, vroom" as he sat on it

Clovis Rodeo Parade...

Ellie fit right in with all the cowboys and cowgirls
sporting her cowgirl hat and boots.
Jack was very concerned about  where the loud bangs
 were coming from.

The cowboys came riding in on their horses firing their guns off.

Ellie liked the Clydesdale horses.

Jack was excited to see big trucks.

Our Sunday home project...
Making sponge balls!

Jack had the right idea, squeeze it out on yourself to cool off.

Then enter Ellie, and what was supposed to be a bucket
for the ball turns into her own personal mini pool.

So Mr. Copycat had to try it too.

And the sponge balls were a success!

Easter Fun!

Once the kiddos got over the Disney high I had lots more fun in store for Easter.  Coloring eggs, glow night egg hunt, a little fun by the lake and Easter.

Easter Egg dyeing!

Ellie was good at waiting patiently for her eggs to turn.

Jack didn't get the wait patiently concept down,
he just wanted to play in the dye.

Ellie was probably telling him not to play in the dye,
as he has a very defensive look on his face!

Ellie was so proud of her little egg friends!

Once Ellie finished up she said,
"don't look mom I have a silly surprise for you!"

Later on that night we had a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt.  I put glow sticks in eggs and once it was dark they went searching for eggs in the dark.  It was a big hit!  Ellie even wanted to hide them and have each of us take a turn finding the eggs.  It was a fun night for all.  Then the next morning she said, "our glow hunt last night was so great!"

Jack loved the finger flashlights.  He was so funny to watch!

We made a trip to Shaver Lake to play in the sand and water.  Ellie discover she could make a river in the sand as it isn't the best kind of sand for sand castles.

Easter morning!!  Ellie has the egg hunting down really good, while Jack likes to eat the contents of each egg before moving on to the next.  Thankfully Jack didn't care that Ellie was finding all the eggs as long as she was sharing the goodies inside.

Chocolate bunny time!

Time for the Easter egg hunt after church!

Next stop after eating some lunch was Moravia Winery for an Easter egg hunt in the vineyard.  They had a bounce house, crafts and toys for the kids to play with.  The kiddos had some much fun and the adults got to taste wine and drink Sangria.  It was the perfect way to celebrate our Easter!

Ellie jumped right in for a picture with the Easter bunny.

Jack still didn't have the speed down for this hunt.

Jack wasn't too sure about that Easter bunny.

I would say round two went a little better but he
still only came out with one egg.

He wouldn't let go of the first egg he found, so he would
point out new eggs but wouldn't pick them up.

Someone from the winery was taking pictures for their web
page and Ellie was all over taking advantage of being a star!

We were entertained by the gentlemen with the camera as he was going around taking pictures Jack kept trying to photo-bomb saying, "cheese" and he was not into Jack.  He would gently push him out of the way, but as soon as Ellie came around he was having her stop, look, and pose.  When it was time to go Jack did not want to leave the bounce house.  He was flirting with a little girl in the bounce house.  Jayson got to see him in action flirting with this little girl who was probably 8 or 9. He had been jumping like a maniac having no problems getting up when he would fall over, but as soon as she came in he would fall down and say,"helpie, helpie" and reach for her.  Then once she'd pick him up or held him he would smile really big!  He likes those pretty girls!
