Big Hat Festival

Just a little Easter and birthday prep this week.  Trying my best to keep us happy and entertained!

Our sensory this week was cornmeal.
Jack enjoyed vrooming his car through the track.

Ellie started with a mountain and then switched modes to making cupcakes.

Our Easter decoration fun continued this week...

Ellie's little pom pom bunny turned out super cute!
Jack woke up from his nap to discover our new little friends.

Working on decorating some rice krispie eggs.

My little rock collector has a fairy garden full of rocks she finds everywhere we go.  I saw project that caught my eye to jazz up your rocks with melted crayon.  I was a little nervous for Ellie to try it as it requires you to heat up the rocks and then draw with crayons on the rock.  I probably told her 50 times not to touch the rock it is very hot.  She did awesome!
She was so excited to decorate her rocks!

They turned our really cool and now her fairy garden has some pops of color!

Jayson had been going on and on about Big Hat Day in Old Town Clovis and then he had to head out of town.  I debated taking the kiddos by myself and went for it.  It was a lot of fun!  The one thing I wasn't going to brave on my own with the kids was the petting zoo.  There was a crazy assortment of animals in this little fenced in area.  I could just see Jack going after the kangaroo and spooking some other animal to attack and then Ellie getting kicked by the donkey.  The view from outside the fence was good enough for me!
Cowgirl Ellie spotted the rides.

Jack was so excited to ride his pony Fancy.

Ellie looked like such a cute little cowgirl riding her horse Franky.

Then half way through Jack started yelling, "all done, get off."

I went in to hold his hand the rest of the time.
When it was time to get off Jack said, "dat fun."

Ellie was all smiles the whole time holding on to her hat!
