Fun in the snow!

This week we got crafty and made some salt dough Easter shapes and painted them. We hadn't gotten the paint out in a while and what started off as a nice pleasant painting experience turned into a finger paint free for all. Our other excitement this week was getting some repairs done on the driveway which lead to a whole morning of the kids camped out in front watching the workers.  And finally after getting some rain this week we took advantage of the opportunity to visit the mountains and grant Ellie's request to build a snowman.

Crafty kids hard at work...

Jack was really more into swirling his paint around.

We did eggs and bunnies.

Ellie thought the eggs were the most fun to paint to create designs on them.

Jack was strictly a bunny guy.

Making some fruit kabobs to take for a playdate...

Our very own Elsa...

Ellie's new Elsa hat courtesy of Grandma Jeannie.

 The workers have arrived...

The chairs were set up, and snacks & drinks were provided.

The kids were completely amazed watching them work.

Bring on the Snow...

We made our way to Shaver Lake to find our own snowy patch.

We even experienced so snow flurries while we were there.

Jack was all about throwing snowballs.

I don't think Ellie was too thrilled with him for messing up her snow angel.

Ready for a sled ride.

Ellie found the nose she wanted to use.

It was perfect snow for building a snowman.

She worked so hard to make him look perfect.

She meant business when it came time to find stuff for a face.

And now for a pine-cone hat.

They were very pleased with their creation.

Ellie named him Frosty.

Frosty was all she talked about on the drive home
and kept asking when she would get to visit Frosty again.

  1. You are so ingenious! I thought you had rectangular sled. What a fun week. Sometimes those child created projects are the most memorable--Frosty. We had ice last night and today. Power was out all afternoon. Lots of quilts came in handy. Spring can't come soon enough!
